Towns represent the place where people's daily life unfolds, where reality is interpreted and reproduced, where technology and solidarity co-exist, where people meet and mediate their diversities. A border town, thus, represents the paramount spirit of the city interpreted as a meeting space in its bridging function between one or more different systems.

This website is a gateway, a FORUM, for all BORDER TOWNS to (virtually) meet, to exchange experiences, to learn more about cross-border co-operation in Europe and in the Mediterranean and to join international research networks.

Moreover, this website collects and organises several activities carried out by ISIG over the last 30 years in the field of border studies: research activities, projects and publications.
